It’s that time of year, Long Beach! Book your family mini session with DOSKOFOTO now!

You may remember Jaclyn + Mike from the EPIC Harry Potter themed engagement session we did at Universal Studios Hollywood, and if so, today’s your lucky day because I’m sharing all of my favorite photos from the session with you.  Take a look, and make sure to stick with me all the way to the end of this post for my favorite two photos. 😉

When Sam described her vision for this shoot she knew she wanted something casual, and if possible, to incorporate some of their wedding elements… flannel, motorcycles, and beer!  We couldn’t bring any motorcycles to this park, but we got the other two covered, that’s for sure.

Vanessa and Brian found me over a year and a half ago.  We took their engagement photos a little over 6 months after that, and now it’s been almost a year since I’ve seen them.  It’s crazy how time flies, and I notice this with weddings more than anything else.  Their engagement session took place in Balboa Park, which is a part of San Diego that I am very familiar with.  I don’t think it’s possible to take bad photos at such a beautiful place!

Lauren and Keenan are also the first couple I have ever “booked” without meeting first in person, which was a big deal for me.  I was nervous we might not click, or that they would be weird and our expectations would be mismatched, but I’m happy to report they are some of the loveliest clients I’ve ever had.  Lauren had a vision in mind for her engagement shoot–an urban theme to match their wedding venue in Logan Heights.  We walked around a tiny bit before ending our session with photos at Chicano Park.

When I asked Vivianna and Jorge where they wanted to take their engagement photos, they knew right away that we were going to incorporate Long Beach in any way we could.  We started with drinks to loosen up the nerves, and then we walked from the Promenade all the way to the Pike, taking photos and capturing moments all along the way.

This last year was a rough one for me.  My husband, James, had a hip replacement in June and caregiving was a lot tougher on me than I imagined.  Immediately following his surgery I had 2 big weddings on back-to-back June weekends, followed by a two-week family trip to New England in July.  I shot […]

The best cake smash ever, and my tribute to the Lawrence family for their support over the years.

Michelle and Julio are one of those couples who’ve been together for what feels like forever, though their story wasn’t that easy.  When I met them, our entire consultation was spent reminiscing about the years it took to progress from classmates, to friends, to fiancés, I hardly even spoke–they had so much to gush about!  […]
