Today is Vanessa and Brian’s big day at the gorgeous Lodge at Malibou Lake!  It’s my first time shooting at this venue but I am incredibly excited.  Last year, when fires ripped through the valley and out through Malibu, this venue was directly in the path of the fire.  I drove through the area in March and saw the devastation that the area suffered.  Many residents of Malibou Lake lost their homes, but the venue was left entirely unscathed.

Vanessa and Brian found me over a year and a half ago.  We took their engagement photos a little over 6 months after that, and now it’s been almost a year since I’ve seen them.  It’s crazy how time flies, and I notice this with weddings more than anything else.  Their engagement session took place in Balboa Park, which is a part of San Diego that I am very familiar with.  I don’t think it’s possible to take bad photos at such a beautiful place!

These two are so cute and in love.  Most men are reluctant to take “lovey-dovey” pictures, especially in a public place like Balboa Park, but Brian jumped right in and Vanessa got the photos of her dreams as a result.  I can’t wait to see them again today and make more memories for them to cherish for years.
